  DA'ing coming up, to speak out now or not?

  hi there, i know its up to me in the end, but just wondering, what would most of you do?

  my da'ing could be tonight, should i take the opportunity (before they can no longer speak to me ) to tell a few jw's that i am being da'd for telling the truth, or not to bother.

  does it matter anyway.

  Hi Joy! 'the crack' means the chat, someone to talk to, but I like your mind!

  Well, I think they had to act on my talking about the UN thing, which is critical of the GB, therefore apostate, but they just wanted me to say I am no longer a JW (of course ) and do not recognise GB as FDS/ God's mouthpiece (obviously) .They didn't say it was the UN thing, I had already told one of the elders who came here Monday, so I told it all again to the other elder. Neither would look at my evidence. I had told another elder before that to not look at the written evidence was superstitious, was he afraid of a bit of paper? He is no longer an elder. Anyway the E's said they had faith in the GB/God it would all sort out in time. Oh yeah... well still not too sure what to do. I also have a knitting machine part velonging to a jw.

  Hi there, I know its up to me in the end, but just wondering, what would most of you do? My DA'ing could be tonight, should I take the opportunity (before they can no longer speak to me ) to tell a few jw's that I am being da'd for telling the truth, or not to bother. Does it matter anyway. I haven't been told, but I strongly suspect the elders' visit was kicked off by my telling a female jw about UN thing, and she probably told someone else etc.

  To cut to the chase I told the elders that in no way do I consider myself a JW and I know the GB is corrupt and therefore cannot represent God.But I had told them that many times before, over a few years.

  So, should I ring the woman I spoke to most recently, she might be feeling bad about the whole thing,she is a 'part-time'JW, the only one in her family.Or should I just leave her to come to her own conclusions?

  Then there's my neighbour and her dad who studied with me, he's a MS who told me he doesn't believe many JW teachings, just goes for the crack 'cos he's a bit lonely.But almost every member of their family is JW,even related to the JW paedo in central Scotland, who was talked about on Panorama programme.

  Perhaps its a total waste of time.

  National Geographic or Awake?

  with the imminent demise of the awake, being 'simplified' to a monthly journal; which monthly journal would be your magazine of choice - national geographical or awake?

  i read national geographic - it is well researched, it has fantastic photographs, and is printed on quality paper.

  with all the resources available to the wtbts, why hasn't the awake gotten any better?

  I think the Fortean Times is excellent, full of life-changing information, like the article on the dog who gave birth to a kitten - yes it did ! No really it MUST be true.

  Actually, its a very good read and has a website too.

  well, not surprised, i have been telling them and others who ask that the org is hugely corrupt, apostate, blasphemers, hypocrites etc.

  maybe because i told someone about the un thing and she may have told someone else, or maybe they're just spring-cleaning.

  at any rate they(2 elders ) came round unannounced and beat about the bush in a pitiful way.i put them out of their misery eventually, by telling them that in no way did i consider myself a jw, nor did i believe the gb were god's mouthpiece.i said a lot more besides, i re-informed one, informed the other all about the un thing and offered him proof - no - he didn't want to see.

  Thanks for all your replies. I am sorry that I will not get to W-S-M this year, thanks for asking. Turmoil at home that makes WTS fade into insignificance.We will survive no doubt.

I repeatedly asked them to tell me what I had done wrong scripturally, nothing forthcoming.Still no answer to my request for Biblical proof of a neccessity for a man-made religious organisation either.

  Sneaky elder said I could just make things easier by da' ing in writing, as they keep the records and this would mean they would no longer keep them. I said they had to have my annually renewed signature in order to keep the info so they shouldn't be keeping them anyway. ( To be honest, I wasn't 100% sure if that's the case in uk, but I said it with such force and authority that he went for it anyway)

  I am fortunate, I can shrug off the shunning, I know its not the same for most.

  I am satisfied that I tore them to shreds for over 2 hours. ( Not the first time ) I know it won't make any difference, but it made me feel better

  I breezily told them to ring and tell me when the announcement is made, adding that if the line's engaged they should leave a message.Bye!

  I don't think I'll bother to ring round any jw's to say 'goodbye' they weren't my friends anyway, so no loss.

  My husband told the elders it was their loss, not mine. Good-o!

  What did you do with your books?

  i am curious...what did you all do with your jw books and paraphanalia?

  i carted mine around for years and kept them in boxes.

  i was like afraid to do anything with them, even though i was sure i didn't want them.

  Donations in WWW box @ KH

  i seem to remember that when there was a specific disaster, we were told we could put our donation in the world wide work box with a note attached stating it was for a particular cause (e.g.

  hurricane relief work in a specific incident ) am i right in thinking that the donations are collected out of the box and banked?

  do the notes get sent seperately to the branch offices?

  Thanks for your replies so far. In the KH I used to attend there were three contribution boxes, one for the KH, one for the 'World Wide Work' and later ,one for cell-saver machines. All money for mags, books donations from the general public (not often ), disasters etc went into the WWW box.The KH box was for the mortgage and upkeep of the KH, I know they were going into the red on that account when I left ! But who knows what happened to particular donations in the WWW box? Or does my memory play tricks ?

  i had a conversation with a friend who still goes to meetings, on the subject of websites of people pretending to be witnesses in order to draw witnesses away from the 'truth'.. i suggested she looks here.. i said she should ask herself why the wt would be trying to keep people away from information.i also talked about the u.n./wts thing.. so if you're looking, welcome , and i hope you are helped by this.. a hot meat pie.
